Course Overview
This provides competence-based training & assessment for anyone needing a good overview of CE marking procedures, including briefs on the most common directives, with particular emphasis on the ATEX directive. The course includes practical knowledge of explosion principles, zoning
practices, equipment markings, and protection schemes for both gas and dust environments, as well as a discussion on the relationship between NEC, IECEx, and ATEX.
Course Content
Explosion principles, gas & dust properties and hazards
- Standards, Certification, and marking
- CE Marking requirements
- Brief on EMC, LVD, PED, and Mechanical Directives
- Zoning requirements & principles
- Ignition Sources
- The ATEX Directive, Electrical & Non-Electrical Requirements
- IECEx Certification scheme
- Protection Concepts, including basic installation & inspection requirements
- Final Exam
