Course Overview
This is an engineering-level competence-based course for designers of equipment / systems needing to meet ATEX requirements. EN (or IEC) 60079-14 standards require persons who design equip-ment or systems for use in potentially explosive atmospheres to be properly trained and certified as "competent" - this course is designed to fulfill that requirement. Anyone who has the responsibility for ensuring that such equipment or systems is suitable and in compliance with the ATEX directive and / or EN (or IEC) standards will benefit from this course.

- Protection Concepts and Zone Applicability for Ex d, e, n, i, o, m, q, and p equipment
- Protection Concepts and Zone Applicability for non-electrical equipment
- ATEX 137 -- The workplace directive
- Routes to ATEX compliance for mechanical equipment
- How to compile a technical file for compliance
- How to conduct ignition hazard assessments
- Practical Exercise to produce an EC Declaration of Conformity
