Course Overview
This provides competence-based training & assessment for electrical and instrumentation
personnel working in hazardous areas. Practical "hands-on" training & assessment takes place in a realistic simulated environment, giving attendees a comprehensive learning experience which is directly related to real-world environment. Includes lectures and material on IEC, ATEX and NEC 505 standards.
Course Content
Explosion principles, gas properties and hazards
- Standards, Certification, and marking
- Protection Concepts and Installation Techniques for Ex d, e, n, i, o, m, q, and p equipment
- Combined (Hybrid) types of protection
- Wiring Systems, enclosure entries, and cable gland selection & installation
- Inspection & Maintenance of equipment to IEC 60079-17 standards
- Sources of Ignition
- Hands-on installation & inspection (Assessed)
- Final Exam
